Last week, the bishop who will be ordaining us, the Most Rev. Allen H. Vigneron, came by for an informal dinner with the four of us. We really appreciate his taking time off his busy, busy schedule, especially considering that he’s essentially ordaining men who are not ordained for his own diocese of Oakland (although one of us will serve in his diocese, in our parish in Antioch).
During our dinner, Bishop Vigneron shared with us many of the joys and challenges awaiting us, and gave us some good advice. He also offered to take some time to chat with our families, which we hope we’ll be able to make happen during what will surely be a hectic day!
We thank Bishop Vigneron for his graciousness and continued friendship with the Dominicans. May God continue to bless him as he serves the people of his diocese. Ad multos annos!
